Back at the end of August an email dropped into my Inbox from a Mr Jonas Carping of Sweden. It was a really pleasant email requesting that we here at Peenko have a listen to his self-released debut solo album and if so inclined, write some words on it.
Well, I took upon the task of having a listen to the album. It was described by Jonas as being folk/acoustic influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, so I wasn't put off by the description. It didn't take long for the album to mesmerise me. It's simply stunning and I'm holding back right now as I've already reviewed it and this is not the sole purpose of this post. If you need reminding though, the review is here. It's so good it made my top 5 albums of 2012, which along with the other writers on the site can be found here.
We posted a full stream exclusively on the site back in September, but Jonas has gone one better this time around. From his Bandcamp page you can download the album in it's entirety until 26th December. This is partly due to the Christmas spirit but it's also to promote the work of the The World Society for the Protection of Animals. To support their work or find out more information you can find them at their UK website or at their International website.
I urge you to take up this fantastic offer. You really won't regret it. It's free so you really can't lose. For anyone who may have already purchased he album, Jonas has promised a Special Offer if you contact him directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
